The first and longest-serving 787 variant. Its first fatal accident, Air India 171 (June 2025), is under investigation and is counted here pending the final report. Deliberate acts and shoot-downs are excluded from this rate by policy.

Engine programme: Trent 1000 blade-durability ADs (2016-2019) resolved under inspections and redesign; the GEnx variant was unaffected.
